Headaches have many possible causes. Jaw joint or muscle problems can occur alongside headaches, but a dental cause should not be assumed. Tell your dentist and medical clinician about recurring or changing symptoms.
A jaw assessment reviews symptoms and function. Medical evaluation may also be needed. Permanent bite changes, orthodontics, or crowns are not routine treatments for headaches or TMD.
